Best web site builder
Hey everyone, sorry for not keeping up with my blog. today i wanted to discuss about a possible software we can all use to build web sites.
Some people might think that this is not a sales letter but that is not my intention. i am just trying to let you know what is available out there and which one in my opinion is the best software to built web site if you are a newbies or even a pro.
I've done a lot a research lately and have found 3 main contenders:
Dreamweaver
Xsite pro2
Site build it
let's take a look at the pros and cons of them all.
Dreamweaver is packed with features. Out of the three, it has the greatest flexibility and you can create any type of website, static or dynamic. Now this is a good thing as more experienced web designer can get their hands dirty and create some fabulous looking website.
However after trying to use the software for a week or so, i was left frustrated by the lack of progress i made on my site (by the way I'm an aerospace engineer and i work with really complicated softwares to do lots of stress analysis) because there's so much to adjust and fine tune. I wouldn't say it's very intuitive as the learning curve is huge. Sometimes, i wanted to do something really basic and i had to look around and on the internet for ages to get it sorted. I believe a true web site builder shouldn't make your life difficult and Dreamweaver can do just that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The thing i hate the most about it is, when you go online and find a video tutorial, you get someone showing you a bunch of code which automatically turns you off.
Now if you have a lot of time in hand and bored, by all means go ahead and use it. However if you looking to make a site quickly, this is not the software i would recommend.
I know i will probably get few people disagreeing with what i said but if you think about it, why would spend ages designing a web site when you have better things to do like concentrating on your web site content and selling products.
My verdict:
Go for Dreamweaver if you are confident with programming and have a lot of time in hand.
Do not go for Dreamweaver if you want to build a site quickly and more focused on content.
In my next post, i will talk about Xsite Pro2. So stay tuned......................:)
Thank you for reading this post.
